What kind of peace do I mean and what kind of a peace do we seek? Not a Pax Americana enforced on the world by American weapons of war, not the peace of the grave or the security of the slave. I am talking about genuine peace — the kind of peace that makes life on earth worth living — and the kind that enables men and nations to grow and to hope and build a better life for their children — not merely peace for Americans but peace for all men and women — not merely peace in our time but peace in all time.
I speak of peace, therefore, as the necessary rational end of rational men. I realize the pursuit of peace is not as dramatic as the pursuit of war — and frequently the words of the pursuers fall on deaf ears. But we have no more urgent task.
Examine our attitude towards peace itself. Too many of us think it is impossible. Too many think it is unreal. But that is a dangerous, defeatist belief. It leads to the conclusion that war is inevitable — that mankind is doomed — that we are gripped by forces we cannot control.
We need not accept that view. Our problems are man-made. Therefore, they can be solved by man. And man can be as big as he wants. No problem of human destiny is beyond human beings. Man’s reason and spirit have often solved the seemingly unsolvable — and we believe they can do it again.
For, in the final analysis, our most basic common link is that we all inhabit this small planet. We all breathe the same air. We all cherish our children’s futures. And we are all mortal.
— President John F. Kennedy, American University, 10 June 1963
the following quotation is how the us government knew september 11, 2001, was going to happen and why they began unconstitutionally wiretapping the entire country on february 27, 2001. the reason the government allowed it to happen was explained by counter-terrorism chief (before bush fired him) richard clarke during the “911 hearings:” he said that the will was not present in the congress nor in the american public to militarize the fight against terrorism — “they needed body bags.”
raed hijazi was one of the two “sleeper agents” in boston who coordinated the planning of the entire operation. note especially “where he has since been cooperating with authorities.” quotation follows:
Raed Mohamed Hassan Hijazi

aka “Raed Hejazi”
Associate: al-Qaida **RF1**
An American citizen born in 1969 in California, Hijazi graduated from California State University in Sacramento. He grew up in Jordan and Saudi Arabia and converted to Islam. From early 1997 to late 1998 he lived in Boston and was a taxi driver. He supposedly contributed some $13,000 of his savings from driving a taxi to the Jordan millennium bomb plot. Trained in 1999 in Afghanistan in explosives and mortars, Hijazi traveled extensively in many countries including Pakistan, Israel, Turkey, and the United Kingdom. He was involved in recruiting new members for al-Qaida and purchased materials such as sulfuric and nitric acid for explosives to be used in the Jordan plot. Hijazi was linked to Abu Hoshar in the conspiracy and was sentenced to death in absentia by a Jordanian military court in September 2000. **RF2** Later that month, he was arrested by Syrian authorities in Damascus and extradited to Jordan where he has since been cooperating with the authorities. **RF3**

“We should do away with the absolutely specious notion that everybody has to earn a living. It is a fact today that one in ten thousand of us can make a technological breakthrough capable of supporting all the rest. The youth of today are absolutely right in recognizing this nonsense of earning a living. We keep inventing jobs because of this false idea that everybody has to be employed at some kind of drudgery because, according to Malthusian Darwinian theory he must justify his right to exist. So we have inspectors of inspectors and people making instruments for inspectors to inspect inspectors. The true business of people should be to go back to school and think about whatever it was they were thinking about before somebody came along and told them they had to earn a living.”
— Richard Buckminster Fuller
this is from a book by bucky called “critical path” and he explains exactly how we can all live fulfilling lives without the drudgery of “9 to 5.” problem is, we live in a society manipulated by the corporate/state/media entity which creates a consensus reality that’s entirely arbitrary. in this arbitrary consensus reality everyone believes we all have to work to perpetuate our consumerist society. this benefits such a *very* few people. psychedelics were so dangerous because they showed that consensus reality really IS arbitrary and other realities are entirely possible. can’t have that! shut up! i can’t hear the TV!!
it’s only a movie
it’s not like it’s an allegory about a modern dystopian society
where citizens participate in an arbitrary consensus reality
by submitting themselves to mind control via mass media
oh wait — it is
ok, i suppose it’s ok to be offended then…
